Building on the momentum of our recent sessions, the next BACnet User Group meeting continues our hands-on exploration of BACnet/SC, interoperability, and real-world diagnostics. Previous meetups brought together industry professionals for live BACnet/SC and BACnet/IP testing, interactive tool demonstrations, and open discussions on integration challenges across vendors.

In this upcoming session, we’ll take the next step - diving deeper into practical deployment strategies, advanced troubleshooting techniques, and lessons learned from real installations. As always, the focus remains on sharing knowledge, experimenting with live systems, and learning directly from peers and experts in the field.

Our speakers: Dan Quigley, Robert Lastinger and Julio Cortes - Distech

Session Focus
In this session, Julio will share practical insights from field deployments of BACnet/SC, highlighting implementation considerations, lessons learned, and the value of distributed logic in supporting scalable BACnet/SC applications.

Dan and Robert will share their real-world experience implementing BACnet/SC in the field, with a particular focus on certificate management and the practical challenges that arise during deployment. He’ll discuss what worked, what didn’t, and key lessons learned from real-world BACnet/SC implementations.

Speakers's bio:

Dan Quigley works at Distech Controls, where he collaborates with consulting engineers on building automation and controls strategies as a Senior Specification Sales Manager. Before joining Distech Controls, Dan spent 10 years at Boston University, where he led engineering and building systems and managed the university’s campus-wide building automation infrastructure.
