Meet our presenter - Mike David Senior Network Integration Engineer at Siemens. He came to this meeting all way from NJ. He talked about the BACnet broadcast and why it's important to minimize broadcast traffic.

Mike has been with Siemens since March of 1993, now counting over 30 years at Siemens. Prior to his employment at Siemens, he was a staff electrical engineer with a major newspaper publication company, where he worked within the Systems Engineering department on a whole range of hardware and software development projects, as well as the day-to-day operational troubleshooting of every computer or automation system from the front-end news systems, to the production automation systems.

He cut his teeth on a great many early edition computer systems, from Perkin Elmer minicomputers to DEC PDP and VAX systems. In addition, he worked on what were probably the first series of automation programmable logic controllers, continuing that journey until he left in March in 1993.

He currently has the position of a Senior Network Integration Engineer at Siemens, where he works within the zone 6 regional support team. Within his role at Siemens, he has been exposed to a great deal of enterprise size system designs and deployments, many of them based on the BACnet IP and MSTP standards.

In addition to his career at Siemens, he formerly owned and ran a software development company named Hudson Valley Control Services. While operating HVCS he specialized in the development of control software for real time applications, across a great many industries, including pharmaceuticals, media, bottling and packaging, as well as solar SCADA systems.

He has a BSEE from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, and is a member of both ASHRAE and IEEE.

He has three grown children, living all across the United States and resides in south central New Jersey, along the ocean in Wall Township.
